29 Weeks and the nursery is almost complete!

So, here I am at 29 weeks along. I've only gained 13 pounds, but, man, do I feel like it's a lot more than that! I had a doctor's appt this week and all is well except for some anemia. So now I'm on serious iron pills along with my prenatal vitamin AND cold meds for a severe cold my sister was so kind to share with me. Other than that, I feel good. My tailbone is still healing, but at least I can sit for a little while. I put together the crib this weekend and there is only a little bit more I have to do to finish the nursery. The big pile of baby stuff will eventually be put in the closet once I put the shelves in and the nursery chair I registered for at Pottery Barn Kids will go right there. Other than that, we have some wall hangings and I picked out a rug to go down. My sewing bookshelf will go up in the attic once all the other things are done, leaving a little space for walking. Its a small room, but perfect for our little one. I registered at PBK as well as BabiesRUs recently, so that was fun. My church is planning a shower in May as well, so it will be party month!
Aram is kicking my bladder right now, so I must go, but hope you enjoy the updates.

It's a Boy! 28 Weeks

Well, we had an adventurous week last week. I bent over and sneezed on Monday and heard a "pop" and then couldn't sit down (and still can't a week and a half later). The baby was pretty quiet on Tuesday morning, so I got concerned and called the doctor and they insisted that I go to St. Joseph's Labor and Delivery Triage. Well, of course, as soon as they hooked me up to the fetal heart monitor, the baby went CRAZY! He hates any vibration whatsoever, so was moving around and kicking the monitor for 2.5 hours. Luckily the baby was fine, and I just have a cracked tailbone (which is beginning to heal nicely.) When all was said and done, we got another ultrasound out of the deal and found out that it's a boy. Aram Isaac will arrive at the end of June/ beginning of July! I'm feeling crazy huge at this point and have noticed that my ankles are swollen, Oh Joy! At least the weather is nice now and I'm busy working outside, since I can't get comfortable in a chair to sit and relax anyway. Looking forward to my upcoming shower and am busy sending out invites. 25 Weeks

So, Here I am again. I think my stomach grew over the weekend... I was sore for a few days and then 'pop'. The baby was pretty quiet this weekend, so I think he was growing too. My doctor's appt went well last week. The heartbeat is still in the 150's and I've only gained 6 total pounds, which isn't too bad. The baby is kicking now and has been for a few weeks. It's a very strange feeling, but I'm glad to feel it. It puts my mind at ease about how the baby is doing!
Well, here is what babycenter.com says about the development this week: "How your baby's growing:
Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. His weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but he's beginning to exchange his long, lean look for some baby fat. As he does, his wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and he'll start to look more and more like a newborn. His hair is probably recognizable now (in color and texture), although both may change after he's born."

Week 22

Here is the latest picture of me. No laughing now! I'm feeling really good, but am super tired all the time. I sleep a lot, roughly 9 hours/night, which is a lot for me. I also take naps whenever I can. Babycenter.com says this week: "How your baby's growing:
Your baby now looks like a miniature newborn, checking in at 10.9 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound. Her skin will continue to appear wrinkled until she gains enough weight to fill it out, and the fine hair (lanugo) that covers her head and body is now visible. Her lips are becoming more distinct, and the first signs of teeth are appearing as buds beneath her gum line. Her eyes are developed, though the iris (the colored part of the eye) still lacks pigment. Eyelids and eyebrows are in place, and her pancreas, essential for hormone production, is developing steadily."

Week 21

We had our ultrasound this week and we were supposed to find out what the sex was... however, our child was in the worst position ever. The technician thinks it's a boy, but couldn't give us a definate. Boo! Regardless, our kid is super cute! Here is the picture. Its a little dark, but you can see the little profile of the face and body. The bright circle in the middle is a part of the umbilical cord.
Babycenter.com says: "How your baby's growing:
Your baby now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long — the length of a carrot. His eyebrows and eyelids are fully developed. And you can certainly feel him move. He's oblivious to your schedule, though, so don't be surprised if he starts working out just when you're settling down for the night. If you're having a girl, her vagina is formed now, though it will continue to develop until birth."

Weeks: 21
Doctor says: "What a brat. He won't hold still so I can get a heartbeat." The heartbeat was in the mid 150's/min once she finally got a few beats to get a reading.
Feeling: Terrific and sleepy!
Clothes: I had smaller clothes at one time?! I went shopping on ebay and now I have plenty of clothes!
Weight: Gained 4 more pounds. Doctor seems to be happy about that!

Working on the Nursery

My Dad and sister worked on my nursery over the holidays by painting it white (it used to be a dark clay red) and Peter helped put up the chair rail. Here, my sister is working on the faux finish. Yeah, almost done!
