Our borrowed kids!

We don't have children of our own yet, so we borrow a few from time to time. These two beauts are my best friend's kids, Scott (now 6 years) and Jada (now 5 years). They are so adorable and I love them so much. Peter and I are so blessed to have Tanyelle and Guy as friends, and they so generously lend their kids to us!

This photo was taken a couple of summers ago when they were smaller... I love how cute they are together!
Anyway, Jada just started Kindergarten this year and Scott is in the first grade. Oh how they grow! I'll update this post as soon as I find their first day of school photos!

In December of 2004, Christmas Eve in fact, Peter and I bought our first home. We were in the process of looking at homes for a friend. I came across our lovely home on an internet site and really wanted to see what it looked like the inside. So, I did the only thing I could think of, I called the Realtor selling the home and asked to look at it as a potential buyer. Not 2 months later, we were signing papers. We weren't even thinking of buying a home, but God has a sense of humor. This is a great photo taken about 9 months after we moved in. It shows off our gigantic yellow maple tree in the front yard. We didn't have to do anything to the home when we moved in. The wall colors were bearable so all we had to do is move our meager furniture into this 1480 square-foot home. There is so much we would like to do, but all in God's timing. For now, we are just going to enjoy it like it is with all the things that come with a house that's 105 years old!

And it starts...

So, after almost 4 years of marriage, I thought we would start a blog of our own... you know, to update you all on the happenings of our lives. We were married on May 3rd, 2003. It was supposed to rain that day, but thankfully, the Lord had other plans. The day was beautiful and our pictures at Thorndon Park came out great. I'm only attaching a few of my favorite photos. For the first year and a half of our marriage, we lived in a little one-bedroom apartment on the Syracuse-Dewitt line. We carpooled to work; Peter dropped me off at SUNY Upstate Medical University on his way over to the west side of town to his place of work at Advanced Color Technologies. To this day, I still work as a Research Support Specialist at Upstate and Pete just got a promotion to Designer at ACT. God taught us both a ton during our first year... how to balance work, family and ministry. I'm still amazed just how much God can bless a relationship when you wait on Him for the right person! Peter and I are still working with the youth group at Grace Baptist Church and we continue to rely on God's grace to minister to these kids. I'm sure you will hear more about them as I add posts to this blog in the next few days!
So, this concludes my first entry of our new blog... if you don't understand the title of our blog, then you don't know Peter! I'll add one more picture to clarify things!
